National School Construction Congress 2025 in Hamburg

What happens when a Phase Zero process becomes a real school? And which insights reshape everyday practice and pedagogy?

 At the School Construction Fair in Hamburg, Dirk Landwehr from Trapez — together with principal Birgit Graumann — shared insights into the journey from Phase Zero to the completed new building of the Bünningstedt Primary School. Additionally our own Thorsten Bremer (Chair, Educational Building Working Group) joined Karin Loesen (Hamburg Chamber of Architects) and Jan Schneck (Schulbau Hamburg) in a discussion on what optimal collaboration in school construction can look like.

These and other inspiring contributions showed how collaborative work leads to spaces that support both learning and life — what has already been achieved, and where the challenges still lie. A strong step toward future-proof educational buildings.
